I’ve worked in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where you are challenged mentally, emotionally, and physically as you always need to be attentive and alert. This showed me how capable I am.

“Throughout my years of experience, I have been able to treat patients with various health factors but I'm most comfortable in assisting frail, dementia, and stroke patients.

I enjoy conversing and learning from the elderly as they are full of wisdom gleaned from their life experiences.”

I'm a great cook, but I've also worked with TB and HIV patients as well as terminally ill patients in an Intensive Care Unit.”

“ In December 2023, I cared for a post-operative patient, managing her medication, meal & snack preparation, and setting up her video calls with her son overseas. This experience showcased my capabilities, honesty, attentiveness, and innovative approach. We also visited the library and did passive exercising thrice a week, she was very resistant but with patience and motivation she managed to regain her mobility strength.

After 5 years of caring for a family member who suffered a stroke and has Dementia, I was inspired to complete an accredited Home-Based Care course together with First Aid Level 1 and Dementia Care certificate courses. I further plan to train in First Aid Level 2 and 3 courses as well as Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and Palliative Care.

I have previously studied Food Science and Nutrition and my employment history includes work in the Food Industry, Education, and Au Pairing in South Africa (SA), the USA, the UK, and China.

Throughout my career I have always placed a high value on customer care. I now look forward to furthering my career and future studies in patient care.

I decided to become a companion because I admire and respect the elderly so much. I always appreciate the time I spend with my grandparents and I know they appreciate me spending time with them and how valuable quality time is.
