I chose to pursue a career in Home-Based Personal Care because I believe everyone deserves to live with dignity, comfort, and independence in their own home. Providing compassionate care and emotional support brings me great fulfillment, and this career allows me to use my empathy and communication skills to make a positive difference in people’s lives.”

In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?

”I feel most qualified in personal care, communication, and emotional support. I’m confident in assisting with daily activities while maintaining dignity and comfort. My strong communication and listening skills help me build trust and understand each client’s needs, and I take pride in creating a safe, caring environment that promotes well-being and independence.”

What makes you most excited about working with seniors?

What excites me most about working with people who need care and support is the chance to make a real difference in their lives. I find it rewarding to help others feel valued, comfortable, and respected. Offering kindness, patience, and encouragement gives me purpose, and seeing clients improve and gain confidence motivates me every day.”

What are your main fields of study?

My main fields of study are Home Based Care and Health and Safety, with a focus on providing personal support, assisting with daily living activities, and understanding basic health care practices. I have also learned about communication skills, infection control, and ethical caregiving, which are important in caring for clients in their homes or community settings.”
