What makes you a good caregiver?
”I am a patient, compassionate and respectful caregiver who believes every person deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness. My experience at ABH Glencoe, caring for elderly and disabled residents, as well as volunteering at Nkanyezi Special School, has strengthened my ability to provide thoughtful and dependable care. I am reliable, trustworthy and a good listener, and I remain calm and supportive even in challenging situations. I believe in caring for every client with the same warmth and respect I would give my own family.”

What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
“I love making seniors feel safe, valued and less alone. Sometimes a kind word, a smile or simply being present can make a big difference.”

In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver? “My strongest areas are frail care and disability support. I have hands-on experience assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing and toileting, as well as mobility and transfers, feeding support, medication reminders, light housekeeping and emotional support”

Your best day at work you’ve ever had and what made it so good?
” My best day was helping a lonely resident who did not want to eat. After sitting with her, talking, helping with her meal and combing her hair, she smiled and told me she felt loved. That reminded me why I chose caregiving.”
