“I enjoy building meaningful relationships with seniors and learning from their life experiences. It makes me happy to help them feel valued, comfortable and supported while maintaining their independence for as long as possible.”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?
“I am experienced in elderly and personal care, including bathing, grooming and dressing. I can also assist with mobility and transfers, medication reminders, vital signs, meal preparation and companionship. I also have experience with dementia care and emergency situations”
Your best day at work you’ve ever had and what made it so good?
” My best day was caring for a senior who had become withdrawn and was not eating well. I spent time talking with him, encouraged him to eat, took him outside and played his favourite music. By the end of the day, he was smiling and eating again. Seeing that change reminded me why I love being a caregiver”
