“I am a good caregiver because I provide gentle and compassionate care. I am patient when caring for seniors and always make sure that their personal hygiene, comfort and dignity are maintained.”

What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
“What excites me most about working with seniors is spending time with them and being able to help and support them. I enjoy building a bond with the people I care for and making them feel comfortable, valued and cared for.”

In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver? “I feel most confident in providing personal care. My skills include assisting with feeding, bathing and washing, changing nappies and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for the person in my care.”

Your best day at work you’ve ever had and what made it so good?
“My best day at work was when one of my patients collapsed and I was able to respond immediately. I provided first aid, placed her in the recovery position, checked her vital signs and contacted CMR for emergency assistance. When the medical team arrived, they commended me for the way I had handled the situation. I felt extremely proud and happy knowing that I had been able to help save someone’s life.”
