What makes you a good caregiver?
“I am a compassionate caregiver with strong communication skills and valuable experience working with patients. I take pride in providing quality, person-centred care that supports the patient’s overall wellbeing. This includes maintaining good hygiene and grooming, following the patient’s dietary requirements, and assisting with medical care within the required guidelines. I am committed to treating every patient with dignity, respect, and kindness while ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.”
What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
“What excites me most about working with seniors is the opportunity to provide companionship and meaningful support. I enjoy helping make everyday life easier for my patients while still encouraging their independence and dignity. My goal is to ensure they never feel “less than” or incapable, but instead feel respected, valued, and supported in a caring and positive environment.”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?
“I feel most qualified in all aspects of caregiving, from following the correct care procedures to providing emotional support, companionship, and personal care. I am confident in assisting with daily living activities, ensuring my patients are comfortable, safe, and well cared for at all times. I also have experience providing basic medical care within my scope of practice, while carefully monitoring and responding to my patients' needs. My priority is always to deliver compassionate, high-quality care and ensure that every patient feels respected, supported, and valued.”
Your best day at work you’ve ever had and what made it so good?
” I will never forget happened during what seemed like a normal shift. Towards the end of the day, I was speaking with one of the residents I cared for. She told me that I was a wonderful person and asked if we could pray together, which we did.
That moment touched me deeply. Our conversation continued for some time, and I remember feeling a strong sense of peace and purpose. It reminded me that I was exactly where I needed to be. Not every day in caregiving is easy, but moments like that make the challenging days worthwhile and remind me why I love this work.”
