Why did you choose a career in Home-Based Personal Care?

”I am a compassionate and caring person who enjoys helping others, especially those who are vulnerable or need extra support. I believe everyone deserves dignity, respect, and comfort, and I’m passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives within the comfort of their own homes.

I chose to pursue a career in Home-Based Personal Care because it allows me to build meaningful relationships, support independence, and promote well-being. For me, caregiving is more than a job, it’s a calling to serve with empathy and kindness every day.”

In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?

”I feel most qualified in the area of personal care and emotional support. I am patient, understanding, and attentive to people’s needs, which helps me provide comfort and dignity to clients. I am confident in assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, feeding, and ensuring clients’ safety and cleanliness.”

What makes you most excited about working with seniors?

What excites me most about working with people who need care and support is the opportunity to make a real difference in their lives. I find joy in helping others feel valued and comfortable, and it’s fulfilling to know that my care can bring comfort, independence, and hope.”

What are your main fields of study?

My main fields of study are Home-Based Care and Community Health, where I’ve learned about basic nursing care, personal hygiene, infection control, first aid, nutrition, and supporting clients with chronic illnesses or disabilities. I’ve also studied communication skills, ethics, and how to work as part of a health care team.”
