What makes you a good companion?

“I’m dependable, compassionate, and attentive to individual needs. I have a natural ability to build trust and form meaningful connections, especially with seniors. I’m organised, patient, and respectful of routines, while also bringing warmth, positivity, and a sense of fun to the time we spend together.”

In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a companion?

“I’m strongest in companionship and communication. I’m a good listener, caring, and patient - qualities that help people feel comfortable and at ease. I’m also creative and enjoy keeping clients engaged with meaningful, enjoyable activities. I believe my mix of warmth, responsibility, and good humour makes me well-suited to companion work.”

What makes you most excited about working with seniors?

“I love the opportunity to connect with seniors who have so much life experience and wisdom. Hearing their stories, learning from them, and being a source of comfort, laughter, and companionship is incredibly meaningful to me. I enjoy knowing I can help someone feel valued, supported, and less alone.”

What’s the most interesting thing about you that we don’t know from your resume?

“ I have a creative side - I love baking, crafting, and finding small ways to make everyday moments feel special. I often bring that creativity into my work, whether it’s creating a fun activity, making someone a favourite treat, or simply adding warmth and humour to the day.”

Your best day at work you’ve ever had and what made it so good?
”My best days are when I know I’ve genuinely brightened someone’s day. I teach yoga, so I get to experience this often. One day that stands out was with an elderly lady who wasn’t feeling herself. I brought her favourite snack and we spent hours chatting about her younger years. She later told me it was the happiest she’d felt in a long time - and that moment has stayed with me.”
