“I enjoy making their day a little easier, keeping them company and seeing them smile. It makes me happy to know that my support can make a positive difference in their lives.”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver? “I have experience with personal care, including bathing, dressing and assisting with meals. I also help keep the home clean and safe, provide medication reminders and closely observe clients so that I can quickly notice if they are not feeling well.”
Your best day at work you’ve ever had and what made it so good?
”One of my proudest moments was when a client was feeling very low and lonely. We went for a walk and sat together in the park, where I shared stories about life in the Eastern Cape to cheer her up. She really enjoyed listening and seeing her smile again made me feel very proud.”
