"Living in Khayelitsha and being the eldest in a family of six has shaped a strong sense of responsibility in me. A deep passion for children and a love for teaching led me to choose the Early Childhood Development field. It’s the perfect opportunity to nurture young minds, support their growth, and make a meaningful impact through my skills and dedication."

What is - from your point of view - the typical role and responsibilities of a childcare provider in an early childhood development field?
"A childcare provider’s role is to support each child’s holistic development while ensuring they are safe and well cared for. Their responsibility includes meeting individual needs, promoting inclusivity, and involving families and others in the child’s learning and growth.”

In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a childminder?

"I feel most qualified in understanding child development, planning age-appropriate activities, and ensuring children’s safety and well-being. I have strong communication and listening skills, stay calm under pressure, and create a safe, clean, and stimulating environment. I'm also open to feedback and committed to teaching good hygiene and care practices..”
