Why did you choose a career in Home-Based Personal Care?
”I chose Home-Based Personal Care because it has always been my dream to work in nursing and care for others. I have a genuine passion for helping vulnerable people, especially in their own homes where they can feel safe, comfortable, respected, and maintain their dignity”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?
”I feel most confident in personal care and emotional support. I am skilled in assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility and transfers, as well as pressure sore prevention. I also understand the importance of keeping a client’s environment clean, safe, and comfortable.”
What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
”What excites me most is learning from seniors and the wisdom and life experiences they have to share. It is very rewarding to see an elderly person smile, eat well, become more comfortable, or improve their mobility little by little because of the care and encouragement I provide.”
What are your main fields of study?
”My main fields of study are Home-Based Care and Personal Care at Care College. My training includes personal care and hygiene, palliative care, First Aid, mental health and psychosocial support, rehabilitation and assistive devices, basic nursing care, chronic conditions, ethics, patient rights, and person-centered care.”
