What makes you a good caregiver?
“I am patient, caring and reliable. I treat every senior with the same respect and kindness I would give to a family member. I listen carefully, assist gently with daily tasks, and always protect their dignity and privacy.”
What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
”I enjoy hearing their life stories and learning from their experiences. Caring for seniors gives me a strong sense of purpose and makes me happy knowing that I can bring comfort and companionship into their lives.”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver? “I am confident in personal care, including bathing, dressing, bed-making and changing diapers. I can also assist with transfers between the bed and wheelchair, meal preparation, medication reminders and companionship.”
Your best day at work you’ve ever had and what made it so good?
”One of my most rewarding experiences was caring for a senior who had become very quiet and withdrawn. After spending time listening to her and doing small activities together, she began talking and laughing again. Her family later thanked me, and I felt very proud knowing I had made a positive difference.”
