Meet Our Caregiver Champs

Our Caregiver Champs have hands-on experience with

  • Bathing, including

    • Giving baths in the bathroom and

    • Giving bed baths for those who can’t get out of bed.

  • Personal hygiene and grooming, including

    • Mouth care,

    • Hair care,

    • Shaving, and 

    • Nail care.

  • Cross-infection prevention, including

    • Hand hygiene of the client and

    • Hand hygiene in preparation for clinical procedures.

  • Exercise and mobility assistance, including

    • Assisting with light exercises,

    • Assisting with mobility aids,

    • Assisting with participating in recreational activities,

    • Assisting the client in and out of bed/chairs, and 

    • Transport*.

*Some of our Champs have driver’s licenses. Alternatively, there is the option of purchasing an Uber credit when you make a booking, which will be added to our Uber business profile. We’ll include excursions made and rides used** in our reports back to you.

**Restricted in order for us to control usage.

  • ASSISTING WITH Health checks*, including

    • Vital signs, and

    • Blood sugar levels.

  • ASSISTING WITH medical treatments*, including

    • Oxygen therapy,

    • Stoma/ostomy care,

    • Catheter care, and

    • Nebuliser.

*A medical professional needs to be present for any medical treatments and assessments.

 

  • Client safety, including

    • Ensuring the safety of the client on a hospital bed and

    • Safely lifting and handling the client.

  • assisting with Bodily functions, including

    • Knowing when and how to offer a bedpan and/or urinal,

    • Emptying urine bags, and

    • Changing adult diapers.

  • Pressure care, including

    • Safely lifting and repositioning the client in order to relieve discomfort.

  • Nourishment, including

    • Meal preparation,

    • Feeding for those who need help with eating and drinking, and

    • Using and caring for PEG and NG feeding tubes.

  • Medication reminders

  • Light housekeeping, including

    • Making beds and 

    • Changing linen.

  • Health and safety in the home, including

    • Cleaning of critical hygiene areas,

    • Eliminating potential hazards, and

    • Preventing accidents.

  • Basic childcare, including 

    • Preparing baby bottles,

    • Baby bottle prep hygiene, and

    • Changing diapers.

Above all, our caregivers promise to respect the client and their possessions, as well as their right to make their own decisions and have their own beliefs and customs.
